Displaying traffic jam warnings

ImageScreen NAVIGATION/Other functions with route option on display and function keys.
Function key Traffic jam warning:
-Press this function key to have traffic jam warnings displayed in good time.

The coloured bar behind the lettering indicates that the function has been activated. To switch off the function, press the function key traffic jam warning again.

With this function you can display current traffic jam warnings which are continuously broadcast by the traffic report stations via the Traffic Message Channel (TMC) using the VHF signal. Details on TMC can be found in the Traffic information menu.

The traffic jam warnings are filtered by the Route options you made. 50 km before you reach a traffic jam or a holdup, a message with detailed information is shown on the display:

ImageScreen TRAFFIC INFORMATION/ Avoid traffic jams with detailed description of the holdup and the options Keep route and Change route.

You can select the option Keep route or Change route. The option Change route is marked in the display. Just turn the central rotary/push knob to confirm you wish to change the route. Your navigation system recalculates the route and guides you to your destination via the new route.

If you wish to continue on the route originally calcuated, please turn the central rotary/push knob anti-clockwise to mark the field Keep route. Press the central rotary/push knob to confirm the setting.

You can also ignore the traffic jam warning by pressing any function key. If you do this, the screen TRAFFIC INFORMATION/ Avoid traffic jams is displayed again five kilometres (approx. 3 miles) before the last point where you could detour to avoid the traffic jam (e.g. 5 km before the last motorway exit before the traffic jam). You then have the option to change the route.
