Switching the automatic air recirculation mode on and off

In recirculation mode, no outside air enters the vehicle interior. Instead, air is drawn from the vehicle interior and recirculated.

The air recirculation mode is normally selected to prevent unclean outside air from entering the vehicle or to either heat up or cool down the vehicle as quickly as possible. Your vehicle is equipped with an air quality sensor which registers the entering of poor quality air into the interior of the vehicle and switches on the air recirculation mode automatically if necessary.

Function key Auto recirculation:
-Press this function key to stop automatically the introduction of outside air as soon as an elevated content of poor quality air is registered.

When the content of poor quality air outside returns to the normal range, recirculation automatically switches off so that fresh air can again enter the vehicle interior.

The coloured bar behind the lettering indicates that the function has been activated. To switch off the function, press the function key Auto recirculation again.

  Note
The air quality sensor can detect elevated levels of poor quality air, but not unpleasant odours. If you want to prevent unpleasantly smelling air from entering the vehicle, press the function key ˆ in the air conditioning block.
