The abbreviation BAL/FAD stands for Balance and Fader. Fader means that the audio source can be adjusted for the front and rear of the vehicle.
The audio source in your vehicle is relayed via four loudspeakers which are located in the four corners of the vehicle interior. Using the function BAL/FAD, you can regulate the level of the volume between the left and right-hand side of the vehicle (balance) as well as between the front and rear areas (fader).
